2019 Continuing Education

Land Surveyors

Conference participants who want evidence of attendance to satisfy Continuing Education requirements for professional registration are encouraged to save their registration confirmation email, conference program and any course handouts. Name badges will be scanned before each morning and afternoon “Short Course” session, and instructors will confirm attendance. Attendance reports signed by the instructors will be available for download from the conference website soon after the conference.

GIS Professionals (GISPs)

Conference participants seeking certification or renewal as a GIS Professional may earn points through ASMC attendance.  It is recommended that those interested retain a copy of their registration confirmation email and conference program/agenda for proof of attendance.  GIS Professionals can receive 0.1 Contribution point per day of conference attendance toward a first-time application or 1.2 Contribution points/day for a renewal.  Additionally, those who present at the conference can earn 1 Education point toward first-time application and 3 Education points toward a GISP renewal!

ASPRS Certificates

For those with ASPRS certifications requiring PDH, the Alaska Surveying and Mapping Conference is considered a conference supported by ASPRS.  For each hour of technical sessions or short courses attended, the attendee is eligible for 1 PDH (or 0.1 CEU).  Attendees who publish papers related to content presented at the conference may also be eligible for additional hours measured against time spent (references may be required).  Moderators and presenters, as well as planning committee members involved in the advancement of the profession, are eligible for professional development hours as specified in the ASPRS Certification and Recertification Guidelines (see the ASPRS national website for more information, www.asprs.org.
